History Overview
An Inspired Partnership
We proudly announced this new educational partnership joining George Westinghouse College Prep with Northwestern Medicine in 2011. It is our goal to offer students an enriching experience to help them explore potential careers in medicine as future physicians or biomedical scientists. Westinghouse College Prep students have the opportunity to apply. These students are selected to go behind the scenes at Northwestern, where they can learn from some of the country’s top physicians and researchers. This exciting partnership, focusing on excellence in the advancement of medicine, features experiences such as the following:
Located in downtown Chicago, Northwestern Memorial Hospital is one of the country’s leading academic medical center hospitals and the primary teaching hospital for Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. The hospital is recognized nationally for both world-class facilities and a commitment to quality and exceptional care. |
The defining mission of Feinberg School of Medicine is to educate the next generation of physicians. A full-time MD program, multiple joint degree programs, graduate medical education and continuing medical education help advance our mission. Feinberg stands out among the nation’s research-intensive medical schools, consistently receiving high marks in U.S. News & World Report surveys. With our affiliates, Feinberg plays an integral part in the communities we serve. Along with Feinberg, the hospital works to improve patient care, educate tomorrow’s caregivers and engage in research. These efforts lead to the discovery of new treatments and cures that can transform the future of healthcare.
Once accepted into Westinghouse College Prep, students can apply and be selected into this highly competitive partnership program. For additional information on the Westinghouse College Prep–Northwestern Medicine partnership please contact us. |
